Darley Moor comes into view (If you’ll pardon the blind pun!).

Darley Moor round 1 is now only a week away and everyone’s preparations are in full swing including our own. With racing on the Sunday and a full test day on the Saturday I will be heading to Ashbourne on the Friday afternoon to establish camp.

Dave Shallcross, one of a large number of M7’s racing at Darley.

Saturday will be spent getting to know some of the riders that have offered their help this year as they test and practice for Sunday’s racing as well as taking the opportunity to really get all round the track and explore some new vantage points while the circuit is relatively quiet.

In the evening I will be trying to borrow some electricity to recharge my camera batteries before retiring for the night.

Mark Brailsford should be testing ‘Hetty’ to the limit as always.

Sunday and I’ll be on the scrounge for breakfast (You have been warned!) before timed qualifying begins ahead of the first race at around 11.30 if things go to plan.

We should be set for a great weekend of action and a bit of sun wouldn’t go amiss either.
