Green Ant Racing Team

Ash Gibson of Green Ant Racing got in touch recently to see if he and the team could help out and run with our logo’s this year and we were delighted to accept their kind offer and add them to our Friends page.

The team is made up of two sidecar teams, the big F1 1000cc machine that we see so often dominate at Darley Moor and an F2 600cc that appears at various club meetings as well as British Superbike rounds and the fearsome Mountain course on the Isle of Man where in 2018 they clocked up an impressive 13th place finish, a coveted bronze replica and an average speed of 108.046mph.

Ash himself also tasted success last season with a debut win in the Newcomers race at the fourth round of the Darley Moor Championship and the big F1 machine claimed the overall title for the second straight year. While the team celebrated their victory the season finished on a sour note for Ash as a nasty crash in his second race of the day resulted in a smashed ankle and some new metalwork having to be put in place.

Fully recuperated, refreshed and raring to go, the entire Green Ant squad are looking to continue their recent successes in 2019 and continue to lower their lap times and improve their finishing results. We will be keeping up to date with all the goings on and are looking forward to meeting them all in person as soon as racing gets underway.
