It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

With the sad news now official of the postponement of all racing activities until at least May 1st and the cancellation of TT 2020 due to the continuing growth and seeming severity of the Covid-19 virus many questions remain unanswered as to when, how and where racing will begin this year if it does at all.

As many of you know the ACU finally gave me permission to apply for media passes in the same way as any other photographer and so I did just that and I was as surprised as anyone when firstly the organisers of the Tandragee 100 road races accepted and yesterday a season pass for the Anglesey/Trac Mon circuit dropped through the door. It truly was the best of times.

Exactly 5 minutes later I opened a message from Chris Cooper (Coops Racing) saying how gutted he was for me that the Wirral 100 meeting had been cancelled and following on from Monday's news that Tandragee had also indefinitely postponed their meeting for me personally it truly was the worst of times.

Now as individuals and a nation we face an uncertain future, as someone in the "at risk" group for several reasons and with young children to worry about I can only hope that the media is, as usual, driving the worst case scenario position. Only time will tell.

So for now, until we finally hear the sound of engines being fired up I wish you all good health and that the virus has little or no effect on your lives and businesses. We may all come out of this a little wiser and with more empathy and understanding, somehow, sadly I doubt it.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
