Our Charity Partners

While I obviously hope to make a success out of my photography I also wanted to give something back to the people that have helped me and to racing in general and we decided that the most effective way to do this would be to partner up with existing charities. One a sensory loss charity and one a charity that represents the racing community and to that end we are extremely proud to introduce our partners and 2019 and beyond.

Walthew House in Stockport and The Billy Redmayne Memorial Fund over on the Isle of Man.

As well as donating some of my images that have been signed by the featured rider I will also be auctioning/selling them on the site with all the proceeds being split between our partners, not a single penny will be taken and I will be covering the framing, printing and postage costs so that all funds generated will be utilised to the maximum benefit.

There will be a gallery of images on the Galleries Page which will be purely for these charity pictures, they will appear, as all others, with a watermark and without the signature but they will be presented in a choice of frames, signed and with the watermark removed. We hope that as word spreads this gallery will be updated each year with more and more riders getting involved with our efforts.

Walthew House

Walthew House is an independent charity in Stockport that provides practical and emotional support to people who are Blind, Visually Impaired, Deaf, Hard of Hearing or who have Dual Sensory Loss. The charity was founded in 1882 and is named after its founder John Walthew, a former Mayor of Stockport. Walthew House is a small independent charity which receives no government funding and relies on donations from people and organisations to support our work. Around 300 people access one or more of the volunteer led services Walthew House provides each week, including;

  • A not for profit equipment resource centre, selling equipment to aid independence like talking watches, clocks and kitchen gadgets, amplified phones, large print items and magnifiers.
  • Social activities and classes for adults including art and craft, steel band, luncheon club and trips out, with groups catering for the specific needs of sign language users, people who are hard of hearing and people with sight loss
  • A weekly youth club where all activities are fully inclusive for sign language users and young people with little or no sight
  • An information helpdesk, regular newsletter produced in large print, audio formats, braille and as a British Sign Language DVD
  • Braille and audio transcription services

Visit Walthew House’s website, Facebook, and Twitter for more information and support.

The Billy Redmayne Memorial Fund

Billy Redmayne was considered to be the sport of motorcycle racings outstanding rising star, an opinion only strengthened when in 2014 he was victorious in the Manx GP Newcomers race around the famous Mountain Circuit of the T.T and followed that in 2015 with another win this time in the Junior race.

Manx born Billy was a native of Laxey and he also served three tours of duty in Afghanistan as a member of the elite Parachute Regiment something that he was quite rightfully very proud of.

Tragically Billy lost his life in April 2016 following an incident while racing in the Bob Smith Spring Cup at Oliver’s Mount in Scarborough and is sadly missed by all those lucky enough to have known him. (Billy Redmayne 02/06/1991 – 19/04/2016 “Utrinque Paratus”).

The memorial fund set up in Billy’s name is aimed at nurturing and supporting emerging talent at the Manx GP and in their own words “Ensure a secure future for motorcycle racing and up and coming riders while helping related charities” and the plan for 2019 is to again offer that support to another four riders in August.

You can find out more about the fund on their Facebook page The Billy Redmayne Memorial Fund.
