Richie Harrison

We are absolutely delighted to be involved with Richie again in 2019 after a very successful 2018 where he not only became the first rider to wear one of our decals on his race visor but also took it to the podium on many occasions as he battled his way to another 2nd place finish overall in the Golden Era Supersport class with Thundersport GB on board the lovingly prepared RAP Racing/P&C Paver Yamaha R6. (Richie probably has this particular list of achievements very much the other way round!)

The end of the season also brought a suprise retirement announcement as Richie took up the role of ‘professor’ of motorsport at Myerscough College, the retirement was however to be short lived as he decided that the bike the students are building needed an experienced pilot onboard and it would also give him a chance to evaluate first hand the skills of his build team at the same time. The plan for 2019 is to enter the bike, a 2013 WK SP125 that has been completely stripped down and rebuilt with the PDMCC club and race the machine at the tight and twisty Three Sisters circuit and we will hopefully be working with the team to provide some publicity shots for them and as a ‘friend’ of the site we will be keeping up to date with their progress as the season unfolds. You can keep up to date with all things motorsport on the colleges own dedicated Facebook page where all things both 2 and 4 wheeled are being fettled, stripped, oiled and then thrashed in the name of education and I have to say it’s an interesting story to follow.

As things stand the PDMCC has made a few rule changes over the winter and it seems that the Streetstock Evo class will now run with the 50cc class rather than the Streetstock’s so Richie and the team will be pitting their fledgling building skills against some on the fastest small bike in the country and should make for one hell of a battle.A s with the Magnificent 7/ Amazing 10 we will be keeping up to date with the team during the season as they make their racing debut.
